GitBook Agent can split big tasks across parallel agents GitBook Agent can now split a large task across several background agents. They work in parallel, and the Agent combines their findings and results into one conversation. That means broad questions and multi-page edits can finish faster, with specialized background agents picking up tasks. GitBook Assistant Conversations are also cleaner. Tool calls, thoughts, and background agents align on one grid. You can open any background agent’s conversation with one click. The Agent also reads pages in parallel, making workflows faster and more efficient. GitBook Assistant Pick channels, repositories, and teams during channel setup When setting up a new channel with your Slack workspace, GitHub account, or Linear workspace, you’ll now set up the tool first. You can then select the Slack channels, repositories, or Linear teams GitBook should handle from a list — so you no longer need to look up specific names or IDs by hand. GitBook Assistant Plus, channel configurations now show their scopes and roles at a glance and highlight any that still need setup. Change requests that the Agent opens from a Linear issue also stay in sync with that issue, with its details shown in the change request overview. GitBook Assistant Improvements Enterprise audit logs now record agent instruction, custom font, OpenAPI specification, and translation changes, and clearly mark actions GitBook Support takes on your behalf — so you have a fuller trail of what changed and who changed it. GitBook Assistant Published sites now serve Markdown to ChatGPT Search’s crawler, so ChatGPT Search can index your docs in a more LLM-friendly language. GitBook Assistant You can now export AI Assistant answers as a CSV, with one row per answer, from the Questions table, giving you more data to analyze answers alongside questions. GitBook Assistant You can now set your organization’s support cost through the API — so the AI Assistant report can more realistically estimate the support savings your docs deliver. GitBook Assistant Each part of a paginated llms-full.txt now says at the top which part it is and links to the previous and next parts, so AI tools that would otherwise only extract a single page know to fetch the rest. GitBook Assistant The column resize handle is now visible and easier to grab, so resizing columns takes less precision. GitBook Assistant When a site visitor selects a tab or selection option on a published page, other tables and card grids with the same options automatically switch to match their selection. So if a site visitor selects macOS as their platform in a tab block, all other tab blocks will automatically switch to the macOS tab to make browsing easier. GitBook Assistant Fixes Fixed an issue that meant tables and other nested content sometimes appeared as blank gaps when reviewing a change request. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant the version history side panel flashed its loading state and lost your place when you closed it or switched revisions. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant GitBook Agent didn’t reply to Linear messages when the connection was limited to specific teams. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that caused a double scroll in GitBook Agent conversations, where long answers scrolled inside their own box and short ones left a blank gap. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant search and the Assistant linked to the .md version of pages from connected websites rather than the rendered docs page. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant deleted page content didn't show correctly in the change request overview. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that made the resolve action on comments hard to find, and showed review comment groups below their diff block. GitBook Assistant Fixed navigation issues after creating a space’s first change request, creating or removing a site item, or when a Git Sync import fails during a merge. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant clicks between cards selected the whole cards block. Hovering a block’s edge now shows its selection border, and clicking outside deselects it. GitBook Assistant Fixed issues in the link palette. Editing an existing link now shows the right results, pages are found by their link title, and pages no longer appear twice. GitBook Assistant Clarified the page options menu to make it clear that hidden pages are still indexed by search, search engines, and LLMs unless indexing is turned off. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant sites published or unpublished during immediate billing changes weren't recorded in audit logs. Merge table cells You can now merge adjacent text and number cells in tables, horizontally or vertically. Click-and-drag (or hold Shift and press an arrow key) to select cells, then merge from the cell menu. GitBook Assistant Merged cells will appear on your published site, and through Git Sync they export as native colspan and rowspan attributes. Learn more in the table docs . GitBook Assistant Improvements We’ve improved prompt blocks by giving them a single button that sends the prompt straight to Claude, Codex, or Cursor, and remembers your choice — so readers can run a prompt in their tool of choice in one click. GitBook Assistant You can now duplicate items from the site sidebar and from rows on the content screen — so you can reuse an existing site structure without rebuilding it every time. GitBook Assistant Each reviewer’s outcome now appears as a badge on their avatar in the reviewers list and comments panel, so you can see where a review stands without opening it. GitBook Assistant Formatting shortcuts, such as Cmd + B , can now be applied to a whole block selection, making it easier to format several blocks at once. GitBook Assistant Enterprise audit logs now record site redirect and channel configuration changes — so you can trace who changed how readers are routed and how the agent is connected. GitBook Assistant The GitBook MCP server and published-site MCP servers now publish a server card, making it easier for MCP clients to discover them and what they offer. GitBook Assistant Article links in the analytics table are now clickable, so you can jump straight to the page you’re looking at. GitBook Assistant Deleting a channel configuration now asks for confirmation with a clearer explanation of what will be removed — so you don’t disconnect a channel by accident. GitBook Assistant Reordering pages in the table of contents within the app is now faster and smoother — so moving pages on large spaces no longer lags. GitBook Assistant If you use Intercom for support on your docs site, the Intercom launcher now hides when the Assistant opens — so the two don’t overlap on your published site. GitBook Assistant Fixes Fixed an issue that meant moving a page broke its translated URLs. Redirects now apply to translated pages, and old translated URLs redirect instead of returning a 404. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant redirects only matched their source path with the exact letter case. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant adding a space to a site overwrote the space’s existing Git Sync configuration. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that stopped the sidebar loading for members who can only access a site through one of its spaces. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that stopped new users from automatically joining an organization by their email domain. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant GitBook Agent conversations could get stuck retrying, or end a conversation without ever answering. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant asking GitBook Agent to fix a finding could fail when the page contained an OpenAPI block without a method. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant the HubSpot connector could hang on errors or hit rate limits while ingesting tickets. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant a change request’s comment counts and state didn’t update straight away when a comment was posted, edited, deleted, or resolved. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant image blocks could cause scroll jumps in the editor. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that prevented links to legacy integration screens from opening. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that made MCP analytics hard to find. The Agents report is now called Agents & MCP, and old MCP links open it. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant updating change request content through the API could time out or fail when it included computed content. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that meant member removals made during immediate billing plan changes were missing from audit logs. Improvements The Changes section of a change request now uses a file explorer. Reviewers can see everything a change request touched in one place and jump straight to it. GitBook Assistant You can now review library changes individually with clearer highlighting and easier navigation in the Changes view. GitBook Assistant Site redirects can now be permanent and use HTTP 308 , rather than always redirecting temporarily. GitBook Assistant You can now export your organization’s filtered audit logs as a CSV file. GitBook Assistant Audit logs now record custom-domain validation outcomes. You can trace what happened to a domain in the log. GitBook Assistant You can now move section groups within your site structure, not only individual sections. GitBook Assistant Table and Card blocks can now live inside a Hint block. GitBook Assistant Now the anchor links layout option controls where in-page links to headings appear. It’s off by default on landing pages. GitBook Assistant Git Sync now supports external links in your site structure configuration. Manage them alongside the rest of your docs-as-code setup. GitBook Assistant Fixes Fixed an issue that could cause data loss when you deleted the last site section with external links remaining. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that could make Git Sync and Markdown or HTML imports hang or run out of memory on pages with hundreds of images. Imports also ran slowly on pages with hundreds of tables. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that crashed the site analytics screen after you hovered over a chart. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue that re-translated, and re-charged, unchanged text on every run. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where the page feedback CSV export omitted the feedback comment, page link, and rating time. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where the latest edits were missing from diff view after you requested a review. GitBook Assistant Fixed cursor and selection bugs in table cells. Dragging, Shift+Arrow, and Backspace no longer jump the cursor. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where you could lose your cursor after scrolling away from nested text and back. This affected lists, hints, quotes, columns, and stepper steps. GitBook Assistant Fixed false positives in Broken links checks. Private GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket repositories, CNAME hosts, and external links with a placeholder hostname or custom port no longer appear broken. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where zoomed images and fullscreen Mermaid diagrams rendered under the agent panel or their dialog. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where toasts stayed white in dark theme, hid their close button, and could cover the agent conversation. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where right-clicking inside an overlay closed it. GitBook Assistant Fixed inaccessible button text in a read-only hint in the editor. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where inline Ask AI buttons opened the wrong assistant rather than the assistant configured for your site. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where keyboard focus escaped published search. Search could also forget a linked page’s configured destination. GitBook Assistant Fixed an issue where the cookie banner appeared before integrations could register. GitBook Assistant September 3, 2026 New releases New!
